MEET CHEF RAFA

Chef Rafa began his culinary career in 2011 after graduating from Johnson County Community College’s Culinary Program. He started as an apprentice in some of Kansas City’s top country clubs, where he quickly fell in love with the energy, creativity, and constant variety of professional kitchens.

Over the past decade, he has served as Executive Chef at both The Carriage Club and Saddle & Sirloin Club, creating memorable dining experiences for families and guests across Kansas City. From elegant weddings and holiday brunches to intimate fine dining events, Chef Rafa built a reputation for thoughtful menus, refined execution, and a willingness to explore any cuisine with curiosity and care.

A defining chapter in his career was his time at Mexique, a Michelin-starred Mexican restaurant in Chicago, where he deepened his appreciation for elevated, globally inspired cuisine and the beauty of blending tradition with refinement.

Today, Chef Rafa brings that experience, creativity, and passion to his own venture: Cocina Club.

Through curated weekly menus, seasonal ingredients, and careful preparation, Cocina Club offers families the quality of chef-driven meals with the ease of weekly delivery.
